A long wall bisects three floors of the Bard Graduate Center townhome, offering undulating platforms for 139 African metalworks. The long wall also connects seven curatorial zones: Extraction, Speculative Architecture, Currency, Devotion, Embodying Power, Domesticity, and Protection.

The collection of works from the continent are displayed within the long wall. Either side are artworks by contemporary artists from the continent and the diaspora. These artworks can be considered individually, or as framed by the long wall with shifting associations as visitors move through the galleries.
